Sometimes looking at the raw materials in the beautiful morning sunlight is the best place to start. There’s a big bay window platform at Parkside Creamery near our apartment, and I can spread out early in the morning and feel, hear, and see inspiration in my sources - recent photos I’ve taken, swatches, look books, and good music!

Sometimes, the most inspiring things are accidents you find while you’re walking around, living life. George took this picture of me last Labor Day crouching down in the street in SoHo to get a picture of some shattered blue glass. The blue glass is a fun contrast against my yellow hat!

Another pic of broken glass - this one taken just this morning on my way to work! The shards of broken glass on the pavement can shimmer and sparkle like facets in a cut gemstone!

Sunlight streaming in through the window in my office kitchen over a lemon my colleague was slicing. So beautiful, so severe.
